On the golden number and Fibonacci type sequences

Abstract

The paper presents, among others, the golden number $\varphi$ as the limit of the quotient of neighboring terms of the Fibonacci and Fibonacci type sequence by means of a fixed point of a mapping gif.latex?f%28x%29%3D1+%5Cfrac%7B1%7D%7Bx%7D of a certain interval with the help of Edelstein's theorem. To demonstrate the equality  gif.latex?%5Cinline%20%5Clim_%7Bn%20%5Cto%20%5Cinfty%7D%5Cfrac%7Bf_%7Bn+1%7D%7D%7Bf_n%7D%3D%5Cvarphi, where $f_n$ is $n$-th Fibonacci number also the formula from Corollary \ref{cor1} has been applied. It was obtained using some relationships between Fibonacci and Lucas numbers, which were previously justified.
